About Nathalie
Specialist physician and researcher
focusing on longevity medicine.
I have been a licensed physician since 2001, a specialist since 2013, and an Associate Professor at Sahlgrenska Academy (University of Gothenburg).
My background is academic: a PhD from Karolinska Institutet and a postdoc at Harvard.
Over time I found healthcare’s focus on diagnoses and symptom treatment, rather than
underlying causes, unsatisfying. That led me to functional medicine.
My particular interest is longevity: how we extend the number of healthy years in a life.
As a researcher at Karolinska Institutet and Sahlgrenska Academy I have supervised three
doctoral students to their PhD and authored a number of peer-reviewed publications in journals
including Lancet and Nature. My dissertation on HPV and
cervical cancer was awarded the Chorafas Prize.
